Book Video: Maya Banks New Highlander Trilogy!

I am sure most of you recall the Operation Auction initiative that took place a few months ago where the romance community banded together in order to raise money and show support to a fellow romancer who lost her husband in a horrible act of senseless violence. Authors, publishers, bloggers, and the like donated items to be auctioned off via ebay and the proceeds went to the widowed blogger and her children.

Historical Romance Author, Tessa Dare (Who has an amazing historical coming out on August 30th entitled 'A Night To Surrender') donated her time and effort on a genius, personalized book video using the hilarious props in her kids' play room to promote the winner's books or upcoming series. The highests bidder was author Maya Banks (who has a steaming Highlander series coming out soon, the first book,'In Bed with a Highlander', also coming out on August 30th). So below are her book covers which you can click on for more info on that book and under that...

THE MOST EPIC BOOK VIDEO OF THE YEAR!!!!!

Visit the authors' site for more info on their upcoming books and feel free to pimp this book video to the utmost. I've probably watched it about 6 times already. What did YOU think of it?

If you didn't get a chance to bid on something during the auction and would like to make a cash donation to support the cause, you can still do so at the website: Operation Auction

Recommendation of the Week: 3/13/11 - 3/19/11

'Colters' Woman'
by Maya Banks
Read an excerpt: here
"Holly Bardwell is running from her past mistakes. Straight into the arms of the Colter brothers.

Adam, Ethan and Ryan aren't looking for women. They're looking for a woman. One woman they know will share their lives and their beds. They're losing hope they'll find her, that is until Adam discovers Holly lying in the snow just yards from their cabin.

Adam knows she's the one the minute he holds her in his arms, and as soon as his brothers see her, they know it too. The only problem is convincing Holly of that fact—and protecting her from the danger of her past.

My Thoughts: This sounds SOOO good. It's in my online cart right now!!! (so so vague, this blurb makes you want to know more) What's better than a man who knows exactly what he wants? Three of them!! That's what! This is one of Banks' most beloved series (or so I am told) so I can't wait to read and regale! Let me know what you guys thought of this book!

This is your Recommendation for the Week of March 13th, 2011 thru March 19th, 2011

Author of the Month: March 2011

Maya Banks
"Maya Banks lives in Texas with her husband, three children and assortment of pets. When she's not writing, she can be found hunting, fishing or playing poker."source

Bio from Author Website:
"My name is Maya Banks and I live in Texas with my husband and three children and our assortment of pets. I’m more of a cat person, but my daughter became convinced she NEEDED a dog. So convinced in fact that it became her mission to convince her father and me. She prepared a two page handwritten proposal that detailed WHY she needed a dog, and well, after I sent her to her father (I knew he wouldn’t tell her no) we embarked on the search for the perfect dog. The journey that was two hours away and that I got pulled over for speeding while I was on the phone with my agent who had an offer from a publisher for one of my books… The officer wasn’t impressed. He wrote me a ticket anyway. Thus, I now tell my daughter that her dog turned into one very expensive concession! [...]
When I’m not writing, I love to hunt and fish with my family. We all love the outdoors and go on family hunting trips every year. We also love to travel. One of our more recent trips was to Scotland, which was every bit as comical as National Lampoon’s European Vacation. You know the part about “Look kids, Big Ben, Parliament” as they went round and round the roundabouts? Yeah, that was us, only we couldn’t even get out of the airport in Glasgow without hitting three of those suckers.
Perhaps the most rewarding aspect of a writing career is getting to meet so many wonderful readers. There’s nothing better than dishing books with someone who loves the romance genre as much as I do. Romance readers are passionate and vocal. We love our books, love our happily ever afters, and we love to spend time talking to others about our favorites. THIS is why I love my job so much, and I’m so grateful to readers who gave ME a chance when I began my career. So thank you."Source

My Thoughts: I've heard and read so much about this author. She's a new-to-me who's in the amazon.com cart as we speak. Her blurbs are wonderful, she has smokin covers (have you seen the men?) AND you can tell just by her bio that she has a passion for the romance genre. Her name was entered into the nomination for this month's AotM, so I just had to choose her. I am constantly receiving recommendations from readers to read something by her, and I can't wait to tell you when I fall in love with her books (should be any day now! lol). What is YOUR favorite book by Maya Banks?
