Note: This is a Young Adult short story and we don't normally review Young Adult but this was a special request.

If not for it being a little simplistic for most paranormal romance fans and the female lead, Jenna, being but 16, you would not know this is a Young Adult short story.

A dreaded forest, a spectra, a wizard, the Tree of Providence, a magical knife, a lottery for the forced labor of young girls, a curse, a decaying mansion, a pure heart and an unlikely love found make up this paranormal romance for young adults.

The Wraith, "black-robed creature...not human, and not fully a spirit...bound to the forest for eternity" by a curse, is the equivalent of The Beast in the "Beauty and the Beast" tale which has been redesigned over and over again in many different forms - this is one of the better variations.

Nole is the handsome, young wizard of the Village who appears to have thoughts and feelings for Jenna.

For adults, this is a nice sweet love story that can "cleanse the palate" between thrilling and/or stressful and complicated paranormal romance or urban fantasy stories. It is also a perfect story for introducing the 13-19 year old teens and young adults to the wonderful world of the paranormal romance genre.
