Welcome to Characterfest
Characterfest is a month long event where you’ll find a different character interviews written by the author each day. Each interview has a giveaway(s) make sure the giveaway is open to you and if so add a comment or question along with your email. I will close all giveaways at the end of the week and add the winners to the winners post on that Tuesday. Odds are if you won you’ll be hearing from me.
One thing I will ask is if you could please twitter or hit the facebook likes button on the post so that others can see the interview. I want to get these authors out to as much as I can and you’re my go between in this event.
I hope you enjoy each interview and please try to make it here each day to find out whom or what’s next. If this goes as planned I will be hosting this next year.

Today I’m interviewing Veronica Mason, leader singer for the Voodoo Zombies.
Hi, Veronica. Thanks for taking time out of your busy schedule to do this interview.
No problem. Thanks for the opportunity.
You’re a huge fan of the 50’s and the rockabilly lifestyle. What attracted you to this era? What’s your favorite part of the rockabilly scene?
Well, my mom loves the era too, so I think her love for it rubbed off on me. She talked about it a lot when I was growing up. My favorite part is the music, of course. The birth of rock ‘n’ roll…what’s not to love? The clothing is so adorable and I love the cars. I just love it all.
Can you tell us a little about rockabilly?
It really is a lifestyle. It means wearing the clothing, driving the cars, having the hairstyle, and listening to the music. To some extent, I think it’s about living a simpler, more easy-going lifestyle. And with the tension going on in the paranormal world, we could all use a simpler time.
You have quite a few tattoos. Do you have a favorite?
All of them have a special meaning for me, so I love them all. But my favorite is the small cross on my shoulder blade. It’s in memory of my brother.
If you weren’t a singer, what occupation would you pick?
A writer. Ha-ha. No seriously, I love acting. Maybe I’d be an actress. I do love music though, so maybe a radio personality. I don’t know, I can’t imagine not singing.
You come from a long line of witches, were you surprised to discover there are other paranormal folks out there besides witches?
No, not really. There had been rumors for a long time. I know a lot of people were terrified, but I wasn’t surprised. A little concerned at first, but things are working out okay. There’s still tension between the vampires and witches. Well, the vampires have tension with the witches, werewolves, and every other paranormal creature. But I digress.
So you’ve had problems with vampires lately. What’s the deal with them? Why do they hate witches?
I don’t have an answer for that. I don’t know that they hate witches. I mean, my band mates are vampires and they don’t hate me. I think maybe the vampires feel intimidated, but that’s just my opinion.
I know this might be a touchy subject, but do you think you’ll ever get your witchcraft skills under control.
I think I’ve come to terms with my half-ass witchcraft skills. I’m trying hard. If nothing else, I’m tenacious.
How did you meet your werewolf best friend Kitty?
We met in high school. She was behind me in the lunch line and saved me from the turkey tacos. After that, we’ve been inseparable.
How’s your love life?
Um, well… it’s complicated. No comment.
So, I’m writing more about your life. The next book will be out at the beginning of next year, is there anything you’d like to share about the next story?
Well, I’m traveling, so you know how strange things can be in different cities. Places you’re not familiar with. Let’s just say it’s easy to run into trouble when vampires, demons, and werewolves are involved.
Thanks so much for answering the questions, Veronica. Readers may have a few questions for you today, so thanks for agreeing to stick around.
I’m giving away a copy of my book, Me and My Ghoulfriends, book one in the Larue Donavan series. Book two, Ghouls Night Out is available now.

Rock 'n' Roll is Undead
Veronica Mason—lead singer of the rockabilly band The Voodoo Zombies—discovers her vampire bass player staked through the heart. A vision of the murder flashes in Veronica’s mind and she wonders if she’s going bonkers. Up until now her supernatural skills consisted of a few botched love spells.
Using her sexy voice and pin-up style has paid off, she’s about to land a record deal. But suspicion soon turns to her when another vampire turns up as nothing more than a pile of ashes a vacuum would have a hard time sucking up. Veronica has another vision, and she has to hone her paranormal powers or lose her deal—and possibly her life.
When an utterly delicious mystery man steps in as the new bass player, Veronica can’t figure out if he’s there to help or cause more problems. What she does know is she can’t resist his good looks and sex appeal. She wonders if they’d make rockin’ music together. But helping the undead could stop her from finding out and leave Veronica dead—permanently.
