To her surprise, Lady Mallory Byron finds herself walking down the aisle with the last man she ever expected to ask for her hand.

Everyone knows the Byron brothers are “mad, bad, and dangerous.” Now their sister shockingly discovers she’s the newest talk of the Ton when she marries the scandalous Earl of Gresham. Faced with a tragic loss, she’d sought comfort from him as a family friend. But soon consolation turned to passion, scandal––and a wedding! In the bridal bed, she finds pleasure beyond her wildest dreams. But can nights of wicked delight change friendship into true love?

Charming rakehell Adam, Earl of Gresham, has secretly loved Mallory for years. He lost her once to another man, but now he has a second chance to win her love––and plans to do so by any means necessary. Will Mallory’s heart give him what he so dearly desires? Or is the past too much to overcome?

Lady Mallory Bryon has been in mourning for the past year following the tragic death of her beloved fiancé, Major Michael Hargreaves. In her sorrow, Mallory has hidden herself away from friends and family; seldom venturing from her rooms. Nightmares of Michael’s death on the battlefield haunt her at night. All of this begins to change when Adam, Earl of Gresham, her best friend for many years, arrives.

Adam has loved Mallory since she was 16, but due to certain circumstances, was unable to act upon. He lost her once; he won’t let it happen again. Adam begins to slowly draw Mallory out of her desolation. It’s as if he is courting her without a chaperone. After all, they are such good friends, they don’t need one. Only Mallory doesn’t realize Adam’s real motive. They are caught in a compromising position which leads to an unexpected marriage proposal. Adam is overjoyed but Mallory is hesitant.

Count this as a mere taste, sweetheart, of all the pleasure I can give you. Marry me and let me show you more. Be mine, and I’ll take you on a journey the likes of which you’ve ever only imagined.

Excuse me? Hello? I’m not refusing that!

Adam loves Mallory so deeply my heart ached for him at times. He would do anything for her, sacrifice anything for her, and please her in every way. But don’t get me wrong. Adam is a possessive alpha who doesn’t want to relinquish what he has wanted all along. Yet, Mallory is reluctant to give him her heart.

It was refreshing to read a story where the hero has loved the heroine all along; to watch the love bloom and grow. This is the first book of Ms. Warren’s that I have read. I liked the cover and the blurb on the back. Now, I’ll be looking into more of her work.
