A Look into the Story:
In the war on terror...sometimes the best weapon is a woman... Sarah Stevens is a washed-up military cop whose life is a shambles until she is offered a position as an agent with the CIA. The thirty-year-old, overweight, down-on-her-luck Stevens goes to a secret training camp where she is transformed into a sexy and deadly agent whose mission is to stop, by any means possible, the financiers of terrorism against the United States and its allies. Sarah soon discovers that this is an exciting new life loaded with adventure, danger and undeniable temptations-
My Thoughts: This novel was a good example of action and drama at its best. Actually, the action stayed with me a little more than the romance. From the very first chapter the action begins and the story keeps the reader guessing as to how the plot may take a turn for the better or for the worst. In the beginning, Sarah was feeling like nothing in her life was working out because she was overweight and being sent away to lose the weight so she could actually be useful again. A lot of women go through their own stages of insecurities, but to Sarah, it felt like nothing was going to be the same again. It wasn't until she got through her weeks at what she referred to as 'fat camp' that she was able to feel more and more confident about herself- especially on the day when she realized she had 're-discovered' her hip bone and felt like anything was possible from then on. Once back on her feet she became almost fearless of any challenge, and that included going against her new partner from "work" Vince.
Normally a man who takes his career and life very seriously, Vince was never the type of man who would admit to any strong feelings that he had. Once Sarah joins him he still feels like nothing else matters but staying focused on work but the strong-willed Sarah starts to slowly make him think twice about that. Whenever he and Sarah are together it's like a new form of unintimidated chemistry. Sarah's strong ability to stand up to Vince and even go against his own ideas while not backing down from her choices make her more attractive to the hard-headed male.
While reading this story I noticed that the romance did take a while to officially start but I was still kept occupied by the suspence and continous action that went on which made the main plot even more interesting for me. The writing style was good; not too descriptive but not boring either; I felt it was a good mix (especially with my attention span cause I get sleepy with long ass overly-descriptive and wordy writings and this book wasn't like that.). She gets to the points and moments well with good word choice and even manages to create pretty clear images of the scenes in your mind so that's good. This book is fun, flirty, inspirational, and suspensful; a recommended read for the action/romance lover.
